Dog friends!
Saw two of our canine friends (and their owner and her family) last night in Pine Mountain Valley.
The dogs are Grace (brown one) and Kim, the German shepherd. Michael and I dispute what's the best "brand" of dog. I say labs/golden retrievers. He's partial to the shepherds. So we will probably never get a dog. (Plus, Bisquick is the Alpha Animal in our house.)
Kim, incidentally, is named for Rudyard Kipling's "Kim."
What's your vote on dog brands? (Lowdogs, wanna weigh in?)
P.S. Heard from some Arkansas friends who just got a new lab mix. His name is Bishop William Montgomery Brown. Bravo!

Forgive me lowdogs, but I love mutts.
Some of our best friends are mutts!
We've always considered mutts to be great buddies, so we aren't hurt by that. In fact, we'd allow many types of dogs are really great pets. We believe all of them should have good homes and capable staffers -- we encourage you to settle your differences over dog types and just adopt one who needs a good home. Bisquick will get over it ('cause he sure can't get under anything).
Being purebred doesn't make us any more or less special -- we all have to earn that status.
I'm partial to my three babies — Chipper, the long-haired Chihuahua; Piiko, the white-and-cream Peke-a-Poo and their baby, Pookie Belle.
Fortunately, Pookie is the happiest, sweetest dog we've ever had. None of
Chipper's meanness or Piiko's aloofness.
Pookie is just happy. All the time.
Maybe people are right about mutts.
