Starting Jan. 24, produce will once again reappear at Brother's General Store, 1014Broadway.
Our friends Brother and Colleen Rosenberg run this fine local shop, and beginning each winter they start bringing in seasonal things from area farms.
Non-produce items include ice cream, homemade fudge, cookies, greeting cards, aprons and T-shirts, postcards, soup and bread mixes and other gourmet items. As you can tell, the name General Store fits.
See you there.

I'm posting this way up from your post about socks. Just had to relay this story, stolen from a column by, I think, Russell Baker. A man grew frustrated with constantly losing socks in the dryer. So he decided to wash and dry only socks. He washed four pair, got back three pair and a single sock. This really annoyed him. So he washed those three pair--got back two pair and a single sock. Now really frustrated, he washed those two pair, and got back one pair and a single sock. Truly annoyed, he washed only the one pair. He got back one sock and a note that said, "Do not trifle with the immutable laws of nature; bring the machine more socks."
